Function

On-duty policy
Every day a medical physician is on-duty and physically present in the clinic. The physician is pediatrician or hematologist specialized in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology or Hematologist Resident under the supervision of an on-call pediatrician or hematologist specialized in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. He is on-duty for both hospitalized patients and outpatient patients, with access to all the facilities and sub-specializations of the hospital.

Outpatient/Daycare Clinic
The Outpatient and Daycare Clinic works daily from 08:00-15:00 with two medical physicians. There are more than 3500 admissions per year for therapies, follow-up or other medical issues.

Clinical Support
The Department of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology belongs to the biggest Pediatric Hospital in Greece. Thus, it is fully supported from pediatric sub-specialties and facilities on a daily 24-hour basis (i.e. Cardiologist, Endocrinologist, Gastroenterologist, Nephrologist, Genetist, Immunologist, Radiologist, Microbiologist, General surgeon, Anesthesiologist, Orthopedist, Urologist, Dietician, Physiotherapist, Dentist, etc.). The Department is also co-housed with the Unit of Bone Marrow Transplantation. CAR-T cell therapies are going to be applied within the following months.
